It would be good to read the USCCB amicus brief in defense of birthright citizenship. For one thing it reminds us that the 14th Amendment was a deliberate reversal of the dreaded Dred Scott decisión denying citizenship to slaves and their children. 1/5

“In these massive detention centers, migrants are relegated to anonymity and oblivion. Their own families do not know where they are. This is fundamentally unjust.”
Pay attention to how often your priest, preacher, minister, denomination speaks about Jesus, not just that you have to believe in Jesus, but what Jesus actually taught.
If your church/denomination/priest/preacher/minister doesn't actually teach what Jesus actually taught...maybe find one that does.
Independent religious, human rights & legal-aid organizations should have regular access to federal immigrant detention centers, including & especially those privately operated. Humane conditions & treatment need to be verified. Assertions that everything is fine are not enough.
Lying is intrinsically.

I'm in favor of "Christan nationalism" in that I favor a nation that lets the life and teachings of Jesus Christ guide its policies and values.
However, I don't think that is what "Christian" nationalists mean...in essence there really isn't anything "Christian" about their nationalism.

I'm concerned that government officials will baselessly claim that there are "too many questions that need to be answered" before they will swear in and seat those who win in the midterm elections.
I hope I'm wrong.
When you worship power, compassion and mercy will look like sins.
When you worship power, the harsher the treatment towards your "enemies," the more righteous it will look.
When you worship power, the value and dignity of others is solely measured by their conformity to you.

"For many Americans, what Leo said about being pro-life seemed a bold political stance. Yet for him, and for all those Catholics whose instincts and outlooks have been forged outside the US, it was classic Cath social teaching — and...just basic pastoral common sense."

Some people are gorging on poison at the Catholic "cafeteria," and it's making them very sick.
The fruits of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity.
You can see these fruits in a country (and the leaders of a country) who follow God.
