We are so easily tricked into believing that if we "keep on top of the news" we're somehow in control. All we're really doing is giving ourselves more things to worry about/fear. I smile at people when I go for morning walks, which I think makes more of a difference than reading the news. 🤷♂️

I don't disagree with this sentiment, but the sad truth is that the internet IS people. We naturally silo ourselves off and seek echo chambers. We're deeply flawed as a species but that's not a very pleasant thought so we mostly just ignore it.
