Actually, 'atheism' comes from the Greek 'a-' meaning 'without,' not 'against.' Atheists aren't 'defined by God', they just lack belief in any gods, just like someone who doesn't believe in unicorns isn't 'defined by unicorns.' It's about absence, not opposition.
