If you have success with befriending locals, please share 😁. I tried local groups and pubs, and the only success I've had is with people aged 50+ 😂. People around my age are either too busy with their kids or are socially awkward.
My parents have multiple courses but also multiple sit downs throughout the morning. First start with a bowl of cereal, then half hour later toast/ cooked breakfast, then later on yoghurt & fruit. It's like they need a constant supply of sustenance to get through.
Aw man 😞. If you don't want to have to buy a new one, the only suggestion I can think of is to get a piece of ribbon or lanyard that has a cool design and super glue a strip around that part of the band. It'll act a bit of personalisation to the strap.
