I’m just a dumb introvert who used to have a really hard time meeting new people, and this perspective shift really helped me years ago.
Even mentoring is now just a fun way to make new friends by proactively helping people with your life experience!
That important industry person seems like an asshole? I no longer feel any obligation to stay in touch - I don’t want them as a friend!
“Maintaining those connections” became way easier when it’s just catching up with an old friend (or a new friend)
So many things changed when I mentally replaced the word “networking” with “making friends.”
Industry socializing suddenly became proactive and joyful instead of stressful and obligatory.
Been putting alot of work into this since you saw us last. Really proud of what the team has been cooking.
