Two pie charts labelled "School travel models before/after free transit pass." The first pie chart shows that after the pass was implemented that 33.7% of students took transit, while the second shows that before the pass it was only 11.5%

For paid options, 1password is good and isn’t ridiculously expensive.

Proton Pass is good if you’d also find value in their secure email, cloud storage and VPN.

KeePass is very good and completely free, but does take more effort to set up and use.

Reminder, Andy pushed for and got an extra staffing budget for his office so he could continue to do landlord propaganda to the older Facebook poisoned and pay a potentially compromised chief of staff to hire a consultant to write his speeches for him at multiple times going rate.

But food? Nah.

You want to know there is a better way than the currently proposed budget cuts? Read this excellent article, point for point. Thank you @joanbaxter.bsky.social for this very detailed outline of what could be done differently.

You want embarrassing? The story of the current N.S. Art’s cuts as they relate to a major internationally growing cash cow is being featured in the newspaper whose primary audience is CEOs, executive VPs and decision makers.

This is embarrassing on a scale the the proponents did not predict.

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says β€” Streetsblog USA Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikesΒ and people in cars and on foot, a new studyΒ of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

Why should any of us believe in the economic vision of a Tim Houston Nova Scotia government that had a historic, anomalous surplus and went RalphBucks with it.

NS followers, if you haven’t called and written your MLA and the Premier about this horrifying budget yet, please make it a priority today. And plan to attend the big demo next Wednesday!

Nova Scotia Cut Arts Funding by 32%. Speak Up. $14M slashed. 72 programs gutted. 14,000 culture jobs at risk. Send your MLA a message in 60 seconds.

Arts & culture funding in Nova Scotia just got absolutely gutted by our Provincial Government.

Send a letter to your MLA. ESPECIALLY if you live outside the HRM, OH MY GOSH PLEASE DO THIS. Your voices disproportionately matter here.

Protect arts funding in Nova Scotia. halifamous.ca/speak-up

When Feed Nova Scotia is speaking up to say this NS provincial budget will β€œstrip away community services and leave those living in poverty further behind”, someone sure as hell better be listening.

Every Nova Scotian who is living with food insecurity represents a political failure.

An early morning image of a sidewalk on a main street in my neighbourhood which is snow covered. To the right of the image is a massive dirty snowbank comprising snow plowed from the street. In the distance a person waits in the street for a bus because the bus stop is unplowed and there is no access to the bus directly from the sidewalk. It is dark with the distant glow of street lights.

A snowy morning in Halifax. Streets in my neighbourhood were well plowed when I went out with the dog but sidewalks were a disaster & uncleared at 6am in West End. Drivers - expect people walking/standing in the street & give space #hfxws
