Despite my love for music, Songwriting is something I have never been able to figure out. It's such a great form of expression.

I mainly left for culture reasons (and always preferred improv anyway) but I too prefer the writing process.

Sketch is a great middle ground for this!

I love watercolors and so appreciate those who can make them work.

My late grandmother, a prolific painter, frequently used watercolors and watching her use them is one of my fondest memories.

I did about a year of standup and know how difficult that can be to overcome. That first time is such a weird rush and if you get even one laugh you feel like you conquered the world.

Been pouring through a ton of film advice books that I have found so stimulating. It really is reminding me just how many resources are out there.

That's awesome! Biopics definitely seem to be having a moment so it's a good time for it. I know how hard they can be to build AND finish.

That's always a proud moment when we can push ourselves to write the stuff that seems harder. Well done!

I mean even the act of writing them is a huge accomplishment well worth being proud of.

The fact that you're actually getting people to read and engage with your work is even bigger.

We've all got something! One of mine is the cooling rack I made for my mom while in Cub Scouts.

Even finishing anything is worth being proud of.

What's the piece of art you've created that you are the most proud of?

Could be a script, a film, a macaroni portrait from 2nd grade. What's the thing you look at and say:

"Damn. I made that."

I find it frustrating, but that said, I do think it's important we push through and do keep letting them know. With enough noise they'll start to fix.

The other place is untenable and if this is where the community is going to be, we gotta keep at it.

I can say the biggest piece of advice I've learned doing this whole pre-production process alone has been to just set the shoot date

It can be in 3 weeks, it can be in 3 months. But getting SOMETHING on the calendar gives a motivated goal to shoot for
