Wages aren’t driving higher inflation, so why do workers always seem to cop the blame?

This week on Dollars & Sense, @grogsgamut.bsky.social explains why Coles is in court & the role of corporate profits in driving inflation. #auspol

New ideas from a new-look Coalition? Don’t bet your house on it The Liberal Party has a new leader, and the Coalition has a new frontbench. So, does that mean we can expect some new ideas?

The Coalition’s policy ‘solutions’ were terrible before the last election.

And early signs are that under ‘new leadership’ they’ll be even worse, says @mattgrudnoff.bsky.social #auspol

“The Government is rigging the housing market for investors. This needs to end. Home ownership and affordable housing should be their number one goal.” @mattgrudnoff.bsky.social

Unaffordable rents, crippling mortgages, and #homelessness are not side effects.

They are deliberate policy choices.

Why did the RBA jump the gun on raising interest rates?

With inflation being driven by Christmas holidays & data centres, the RBA didn’t need to raise the interest rate this week.

@mattgrudnoff.bsky.social & @ebonybennett.bsky.social discuss why the RBA is so cautious about cutting rates, yet so quick to hike them up. #auspol

Ley is failing the Jewish community. She is choosing to politicize rather than unite Australia on this national tragedy. If she succeeds I fear it will become a political football robbing them of real effort to ensure this never happens again. After Port Arthur we came together. We need that again.
