I’ve had a very similar thought. You used to see weird-ass art cars sometimes. Because people had the time and the money to waste a beater car turning it into an art car. The people that would do this can no longer afford to do this, and that’s very sad to me.

So I love that cartoon and game artists are doing their thing! And that dudes are showing hog! But is there ANY Bluesky feed that’s not 98% those three things?

No judgement implied, they’re just not what I’m looking for! And they are PERVASIVE and I’ve muted 100s of people for bad-feeling reasons.

This is 100% the best museum I’ve ever been to. I was lucky enough to visit right after reading the very dubious novel “Aztec”. Wow. Added even more flair!

I stole a giant steel cable out of one of their parking garages in broad daylight for my backyard partyhouse zipline that traversed the fire pit and the pool and caused untold beer-related injuries. ASU def occupies a fond memory place in my heart!!!

Cake has an astoundingly good cover of the Muppets Mahna Mahna song! It’s on my kid’s playlist and it’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser every time it comes up!

lol, I stole my dad’s copy of The World According to Garp around age 7. Took half the book for me to figure out that an ‘erection’ wasn’t a fancy way to say ‘building’. Definitely explains a lot about me. Still kinda intrigued by Mrs. Ralph.

Sorry to hear! If you’re looking for more new brands to try, my longtime fave is Indomie Chicken Curry and my new fave is You Ni Yi Mian handcut in sesame or chili oil.

The data was indeed super clear that algorithmic was preferred when I was working in this industry. But I think most algorithms suffer from what I call a “no novelty bias”. They figure out what cluster you’re in and show you stuff from ONLY that cluster.

Recursive feedback mechanisms without external corrections start to exhibit WEIRD behaviors. And people exposed only to a single cluster of thoughts by people exposed to that single cluster get WEIRD. Novelty.

Side note: I think we’re going to see this same dynamic in a few years with AI. Most of the web will be AI generated content. And we’ll be training updates to the AIs using the AI generated content on the web.
