I think all of that would result in a much better system as everything is pretty much straight forwards, Mending is not a necessity, no fear of loosing items, XP is linear so it's much easier to understand
Mending is completely changed so forget about current function, instead it will become 2 level enchant that makes repairing cheaper. First level reduces XP cost by 1, while second level doubles the repaired amount, so repairing this item will always repair by 100%
Additionally, items won't be lost when broken, instead they will be "Broken" and won't function, if you played with Tinker's Construct mod It's pretty much the same idea.
Now with all that comes Mending, as repairing with these changes is really easy and approachable my idea for Mending rework is:
For combining enchanted items, it would cost equal to the sum of all enchanting levels of the product plus 2, so if you combine 2 pickaxes, and it results in a pickaxe with Efficiency 5, Unbreaking 3 and Fortune 2, the cost would be 12 levels as (5+3+2)+2 is 12.
Then, removing history from anvils like you suggested, history belongs in books not anvils.
Repairing items in anvils would be static and none scaling, it would always take 2 levels and 1 material to repair 50% of max.
I also have my ideas for this issue, including a rework to Mending to make it less impactful, while making it also less needed anyway.
First, I would make XP linear so that something costing X amount of levels would be the same regardless of your level.
I think another thing is also not linear level scaling, more levels need much more xp and as enchantment table and anvil only take from levels, it can mean you will waste a lot of xp, like doing something that takes 3 levels while you have 30 lvls will take much less xp than if you had 60 lvls.
Baby So Perfect !!!

Feel free to share it everywhere!
(I know Hawkon also did a list like that, but I'm just sharing the word XD)
Would it be possible to make an official list or starter pack with Hytale devs, so people can easily find everyone?
Do you think there is a possibility where a big part of players who only play on modded minecraft (like bigger packs, stuff type ATM, Stoneblocks etc.) could switch to Hytale once such experience would be closely recreated? If you can answer such question yet, of course.
This is probably the last update for 1.21.4 as Wynntils focuses on 1.21.11 (or 26.1 depending on Fruma release). I will ofc update if some major issue is found in the meantime.
Can't wait to see what the new minecraft version can bring to Wynnic Enchantments!

I meant to say Exploration update not Adventure update lol
Tho I must say, as a modded player, nothing will top 1.7's name "The Update That Changed The World" and it just so happened it was a golden era, it literally changed the world of modded.
The fact that these updates added a little bit of everything didn't help, like would you guess that the Combat Update expanded the end from just an island to what we have today. Or the aforementioned Adventure update added Schuller boxes (Shulkers were added in Combat update)
simply having Mending on completely removes that aspect from your gear, xp is coming from nearly everything in this game, so like you will have your items repaired at all times. As it is a treasure enchant you need to play with anvil and its dark magic of cost and limitations which aren't intuitive.
I personally think trying to fix mending is the wrong thing people focus on. Mending is not the issue, it's the fix for the issue, it's the cure for the poison of the durability and enchanting. Mending essentially removes the durability from gameplay completely so any issues it has are irrelevant as
Caves and Cliffs is by far my favorite update, like everything it added was so good, to the point that even tho I am first and foremost a modded player I still have trouble going to past versions even tho they offer more just because world gen is extremely good
I will try to get the modpack updated this week, in the meantime you can just update this mod, so everything works with Wynntils as configs are crashing in older version due to the changes.

Yes, in fact it's fully server sided, no client needs this mod installed, meaning a server running this mod can accept vanilla clients and everything will work fine. And the time will be taken from the server, the server is the one that controls time.
New project release! ๐
