Snow covered landscape as seen from a plane window, showing some streamlined landforms.
Still a lot of snow across northern Norway - good for spotting the locations of old ice streams 😀

Nearly back from another great EGU, met loads of great people, learned about some amazing research and even found time to enjoy the sun
📣 Our new paper is out in Nature Communications!
Subglacial water—often overlooked—can change sea-level rise projections by up to a factor of three. Big implications for how we model Antarctica.

Very take it or leave it on the 4:30am start
But really excited to be back in Sheffield and just about ready to give a seminar on modelling subglacial hydrology in Finland and Greenland
Together with some amazing colleagues in Canada and Finland, we recently produced a paper describing the subglacial hydrology beneath the former Fennoscandian Ice sheet as it retreated 12,000 years ago tc.copernicus.org/articles/18/...
Man in flowery shirt stands in front of a glacial waterfall in Switzerland
Now feels like a good time to start trying to use this properly, I’m Adam, a research fellow at Aberystwyth University interested in the flow of water beneath glaciers.
Some might charitably describe me as a ice sheet modeller, but I’m more like a muddling geomorphologist with a MATLAB license…
Come and work with me in Bristol and beyond on glacier microbes, carbon fluxes, ice sheet hydrology or natural flood management solutions: a fab crop of PhD projects with lovely collaborators

Is this not normal behaviour? It’s my favourite bit 🙃
Sssh I’m trying to pretend I’m an Earth one now…
