The IOC issued a statement immediately when Russia invaded Ukraine during the same Olympic Truce period in 2022. The IOC then banned Russian athletes from competing under their flag in future Olympics, including Milan-Cortina.
But the IOC isn’t saying anything about the U.S.’s actions right now

So, so instructive to compare media response to Afghanistan withdrawal -- months of hysterical garment-rending & catastrophizing, relentless criticism of the admin -- with the response to an unprovoked, unmotivated, illegal war of aggression, ie, "some critics say maybe Trump should have reasons."

I want the story to happen more. Even before UB it felt like the story was just kinda devolving into nonsense and this new stuff just messes it up even more.
No but it seeks to solve a very real problem. It’s hard to get a full draft going, and limited has the potential to drive a lot of events and sales. In a world where pick 2 drafting was awesome and widely adopted, it would have been a very good thing for Magic as an option for smaller groups.
And lorwyn eclipsed also seems like it suffered as a result of being designed with pick 2 draft in mind as well as warping the format around the 5 major archetypes instead of having 10 balanced ones. I guess I respect them for trying it, but it’s clear that it’s not good for the sets.
I think the standard thing was also probably a way to try to salvage small sets as being worth the money for consumers
Yeah I wonder what would have happened if aftermath was just way cheaper, clearly a big part of where they went wrong was assuming players would be excited to drop the same amount of money on a fraction of the cards, and then planning on a lot of UB sets being viable as small sets
This is a perfect expression of the modern GOP credo: We don't build, we only demolish.
I really liked final fantasy, avatar, and lord of the rings. It seems like small sets have made a huge mess of their product line, I wonder how long it’ll be before that settles
