Before this loss, sometimes the weight of what felt like the singularity of my experience as a trans mom who had kids young and raised them in a queer/sometimes-punk context was heavy. This kid I just lost always told me someday I’d find people to talk to who could relate, so I’m looking. 2/2
Last week my younger child passed away. I’m hoping to find trans or queer people in PDX or maybe NYC or CT (I go there sometimes to visit my other child and his baby daughter) who have lost a teen or young adult child who might be interested in connecting. 1/2

I enjoyed this essay, and seek out any discussion and analysis of the earlier trans Internet I can. And every time I read something like this I’m still hoping they’ll talk about Auntie Jenny and the AntiJen email list. (even if I never quite plucked my eyebrows the way that she wanted me to)

My fantasy novel cover requirement as a kid was just “girl who is obviously the main character” so Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar novels were my deepest obsession.

So in terms of when to expect more of this, I need to get 20 authors that WERE NOT featured on this list, but there will likely be some repeat authors from here, they just do not count towards my 20. So far I have 1/20, soon to be 2/20. I will aim to do these more than once a year-

Revisiting this because I found two other teenage Katie photos (they are very rare) (sadly you can’t see what a disaster my hair is under the hat in the first one haha and the second one is glitter damaged and I’m making a weird face, oh well)

Primitive ink rabbits in pink, purple, blue and green, one has wings, one has a big head, they’re shown in profile, wibbly wobbly lines
A deeply saturated twisty tree drawing, paper pretty covered in ink and colour so seems like a painting but in my view isn’t. Green, pink, purple, deep darks, simple but weird
