Congratulations, well played!
Today I played Battle Garegga at my regular arcade.
Cleared it on one coin with Dragon Man Miyamoto.
Also took down the Black Heart & B.H. Mark IIโsaid to be the galaxy's strongest fighter for rear attacks.
The combination of ninjutsu and dragon is just the best, isn't it?

Being on a podcast with something of a childhood hero (and a Mean Yob iykyk) such as @jazrignall.bsky.social to talk classic arcade games is a moment that will be hard to top this year, for me.
Had a lot of fun on this podcast talking about one of my all-time favorite games that I also just happened to be a bit tasty at playing.
Quite a moment for me to have Jaz on the podcast.
I was never able to beat him when I was young. I had to return to settle the score as an adult lol
Same here. The Galaxy Force II moving cabinet was a life changing event to me and cemented SEGA in my mind as kings of the arcades, in the late 80s. :)
I look very much forward to hanging out as well!
Some (but not all) of the games that were most important to me, over the years.

Thanks Tom!
When I finally decided to go back to my childhood favorite Castlevania with the aim to clear it, I was forced to defeat Death with the cross as well!
Itโs far from an Indie Game: The Movie type of singular promotion piece, but my @hitpstudio.bsky.social buddy and I made it into this upcoming documentary film. ๐

Haha, that is excellent!
Shout out to Maruyama
#scanlinesunday contribution (I usually forget!).
35 years ago, I wrote this Pilotwings review. I thought it deserved a higher rating than this, while Matt felt the game's high level of difficulty made it somewhat frustrating - so we met in the middle at 90%. Either way, this was THE game to show off your SNES to your mates!
Nice. Was that called Alcon or Slap Fight?
Remember WiiWare (the Wii eshop)? I believe that was my first experience buying digital games. Some fun experiences to be had there. Here is everything I bought on it, or got for free somehow. Anybody else remember games they bought?
Oh yeah, it's a mad game. Mechanically not much more sophisticated than a WarioWare micro game, but worth it for the insanity.
Yup, that's the first one! Motion controlled steering only and it's pretty difficult!
Typical. The first 2026 video game release Iโm adding to my collection is a reissue of a 1993 port of a 1986 arcade game.
Slap Fight MD is notable for its arrange mode featuring a @yuzokoshiro.bsky.social OST.
We also covered the arcade game in the 1st year of @videowizardspod.bsky.social.
This is what I got on WiiWare. (3/3)

New podcast: Balan Wonderworld (early access)
Brian, Chris W, Darren and Leah explore the wild and sometimes confusing world of Square Enixโs notorious Balan Wonderworld.
Underneath all of the drama and controversy is there a game here that is worth playing?
Available now from our $2 Patreon.
Episode 32 is sloooowly coming together. But who doesn't love a bit of good natured and sometimes even insightful chat about classic arcade games such as Mappy, Mario Bros., Gyruss, Star Wars and... Krull?
Posca pens is taking me back!
Well since Twitter is ass now Iโm bringing the squad here. Iโll be posting a variety of older clips of the game and stuff I never shared as we lead up to the new much larger scale updates coming soon. Until then letโs start with the gameplay first look

I've been totally hooked on gaming since 2024.
My first encounter with Shovel Knight this year was mind-blowing.
It felt like an 8-bit action game had been resurrected in the modern era.
So many mechanics paying homage to the classic masterpieces from Konami and Capcom.
