Which sucks, really, because I worked my ass off to get where I am now. I took this job because I believed in the mission (and took my prior job in federal service for the same reasons). And to have that possibly ripped away… it hurts like hell.

Regardless, I’ll be strong in the face of adversity.

I have been bookmarking potential jobs in the event something does happen. I look at least once a week, because I just don’t know if tomorrow is the day I wake up and get told I’m being let go. I’m hoping and praying that doesn’t happen, but the possibility of it happening is always right there.

They’ve asked leaders questions that they don’t have the answers to. In some cases, some of them don’t even know if they are safe from the federal purge.

I know I’m potentially not safe. I’m riding this out until they tell me one way or another if I’m staying or going, but…

Tomorrow is probably going to be rough at work. There are a lot of folks concerned about their jobs, their livelihoods and their future, and our leadership hasn’t been given any insight into what’s happening with everything happening in the federal workforce.

One way I’m helping some folks in my community is by combating egg prices. I sell my farm fresh eggs for under current the current price in stores. Any money made goes back into caring for my chickens. 💚🐓

At first she was apprehensive and didn’t think she would like it, but soon learned that it was therapeutic and a much needed change. Inspired, she bought MORE chickens and established a hobby farm named Sunnyside Farms, and aims to highlight hobby farming for potential newcomers to the lifestyle.

Some lore (that honestly aligns with what happened IRL, and details plan): Sunny is a goat-gal who was all about that city life until she decided to make some life changes, and raising chickens quite literally fell into her lap, unexpectedly.

Writing and calling*

I have cried so much over the past few days. I’m a federal worker and I’m exhausted. We lost some amazing, talented people in the last few days and I feel like there is nothing I can do to help. I feel like sitting and calling my senators and reps won’t help. When does this hell end?

Thank you… it’s just a lot happening right now and it’s really hard to deal with.

I’m mentally exhausted. My health is failing because of all the stuff happening that’s stressing me out, and I’m scared for my future.

This week hasn’t been the best, but I’m determined to keep being positive.

This weekend is part relaxation and part adding more floor cover to the coop and run. Deep litter method, for the win. #ChickenLife
