It's completely unacceptable that Jackson, the best connection to Pioneer Square and the Stadiums next to two regional train stations and a major bus transfer point, is a car centric obstacle course instead of a street for people.

Our weather is totally reasonable to go to the park and throw a ball around at 6pm in January, but good luck finding a field with lights.
Like we want to move the daylight around to after work/school in part because we don't have lights in our parks that are on by default so there's no public spaces for kids to go after school without paying.
I really view this at least partly through the lens that Seattle needs to stop pretending it's a backwater that can shut down for 4 months and get serious about lighting public spaces adequately.
Going to introduce the mosquito vehicle fleet act that requires all wheeled vehicles smaller than a bus but larger than a bike to be zero emission and built locally.

I'd like to see @mayor.nyc.gov @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social change NYPD practice so that when a pedestrian or cyclist is killed the cops say, "The investigation is ongoing. We have no comment." It's ridiculous to say "no criminality is suspected" before an investigation has even begun.
Every time I sit waiting for imaginary cars at a red light on my bike in the rain I think about how Seattle spends millions of dollars on intelligent traffic signals to save drivers a few seconds but doesn't program them to skip or shorten left turns based on car detections.

The dichotomy of Rainier Ave in Mt Baker is that three blocks towards LWB is some of the most expensive homes on some of the most expensive land outside downtown, but Rainier Ave is such a disamenity that only a car wash makes sense here.
Sure it isn't true that the bike lane is going to cost tens of millions of dollars, but imagine if it were.
I finally got around to sending an email to @cmeddielin.bsky.social, SDOT, and the mayor's office about this. We need a better solution to closures of major bike routes than telling people on bikes "good luck"
Earlier in the meeting someone tried to leverage the "trauma" of the West Seattle Bridge closure as a reason why SDOT should back off major changes to Highway Park Way.
Just a step short of, "this is my emotional support fourth traffic lane."

Again, these things are not competitive with each other, the political will that beats NIMBYs beats them in all venues at once, you can't give it to NIMBYs on tiny housing villages because that lionizes them to oppose apartments.

Again, this is a symptom of NIMBYs having power not a symptom of tiny house villages. If you stop doing tiny house villages they'll just spend they time opposing apartments.
I don't see these as competitive. The political will that allows us to stand up a tiny house village in a week is the same political will that allows us to permit an apartment in a month.
