One of the defining features of Saladin Ahmed’s writing is taking a hyper masculine character and keeping them masculine, yet highlighting the softness and gentleness. Demanding the world accept that there’s no irony in the two things existing alongside one another. I can’t fucking wait for Bishop.

There’s not enough romance drama in modern X-Men. It’s fine some characters are happy/committed. But navigating interpersonal and romantic drama WHILE being hated and feared is an important aspect that’s sort of missing. Some of this is fandom’s fault and I’m not sure there’s a solution to THAT.
Beast/Evil Beast/Jenn is pretty good and it looked like Psylocke was going to go there with Greycrow/Kwannon/Shinobi. But this is why you have Emma/Tony fans. It’s crumbs, but when it’s working it’s also trope-y and messy and fun.
I love people who get it.
The affair(s) in New X-Men are written with such empathy for all four people involved but I’m not excited for how it might be adapted in 97. It’s possible they pull it off, but X-Men online discourse is going to be so bad I’m probably going to have to brick my phone.
You know, I never liked Stranger Things BUT as a middle school teacher I have to hand it to that show getting an entire generation into Kate Bush. Gen Alpha is listening to Kate Bush B sides. The kids are (sometimes) alright.
