This is hilarious.
Also, completely enraging.

Emerging from my enforced post-operative hibernation, I've just uploaded one of my Off the Cuff podcasts exclusively for paying patrons. Come on over and join the fun for less than the prie of a cappuccino a month (or more if you like). www.patreon.com/posts/off-cu...
Book review: Borderlines by Lewis Baston. This is a mixture of travel and history as he visits 29 famous and obscure European borders, debunking territorial revisionism. If there is one message from this brilliant book, it is to leave borders well alone. balkandave.blogspot.com/2026/03/bord...
Last month we finally unveiled our brand new website. With a new mega menu designed to be easier to navigate, a blog and newsletter and integrated IOSS system for our EU based customers it has been a huge step forward for us. If you haven't already, head over to www.warbases.co.uk and take a look.
Fantastic!
I donβt feel like Iβve done much except become the grumpiest b*stard in town! π
Me and my partner Annie enjoying Scandi-style coffee and cake in Hove.
Managed another stagger round the block for coffee and cake with the missus. Absolutely beautiful day down here in Hove and a couple of thousand more steps added to the post-op total as I coax the new hip into action.
Cheers!
Thanks Ole!
Thanks Nigel π
No worries β I have had practice back in October/November!
Thanks!
Cheers π
It really is, Sigur π
Β‘Gracias Benito, todavΓa queda mucho camino por recorrer!
Thank you!
Cheers π
Oh, trust me, exhaustion stopped me after a coupe of hundred metres! But thank you and itβs a startβ¦
Me posing at the end of a short, but exhausting first post-op walk.
After a challenging few days post-op, and still with significant pain and swelling as the new hip takes its time to settle in, I took advantage of the sunshine to get a morale boost by having a shuffle down the road and back. Slow but steady.
Thanks for asking. Iβm in the βJeez that really hurtsβ stage, accompanied by βI never knew a leg could swell that muchβ. Ask me again in a few days and with luck things will have calmed down.
HOME!!
Cheers!
Thanks Nigel π
Thank you. Iβll be fine. Two new hips wonβt quite make me bionic, but itβs lifted the cloud of temporary and painful disability and that alone is a major morale boost.
@biglee.bsky.social Terrific review of the Cavalier show! A real βwargameryβ bit of photojournalism there π
For folks who havenβt watched it yet:
