It blows my mind they just abandoned absolute design fundamentals. I'm holding off that iOS upgrade in hopes it at least improves before I'm forced in to it.
Apple just threw out the rulebook with Liquid Glass. They really shouldn't have, especially as they were the ones who wrote it in the first place.

Oh wait, totally my oversight, sorry! I just went to the main account and in my excitement didnโt realise I replied to a repost.
Well to you my fellow fan, happy release day! I hope youโre able to get some play time in on it soon.
Congratulations on the release! I've been following for years and really excited to get to play it.
Just saw the release email drop in Steam for this. Been following the development for a couple of years now and I'm so excited to play it.
Other games are going back on the shelf for now, this once has jumped the line. Can't wait to clock out and fire this up!๐ค

Fun fact: .co domains are expensive to help ward off domain squatters and make them feel more prestigious.
And nothing says prestige quite like constantly being asked if you meant .com or if you missed the .uk, by people and forms alike. ๐
Seeing a lot if AI hype saying designers in the future should all be vibe coding, shipping and supporting what they make.
If youโve ever tried to balance design and engineering at the same time, youโll know why this is nightmare and how design time will be pushed out.
This Friday (24th Oct), weโre collaborating with Tokyo Game Bridge for our Community Link-Up event, an evening of networking and demos.
#XR demos include: VR Ring Fit Shooting and Spatial Glass (details in the thread).
Limited RSVPs still available:

Visiting the TOKYO NODE โXR PARADEโ in Toranomon Hills today and blown away by the creativity on display. Their summer hackathon has fostered some amazing #XR projects which are well worth checking out.
It runs until Friday 24th October. Details at:

My favourite recurring theme this #DesignMattersTokyo has really been the design leadership insights people have been sharing
Even with all the talk of AI changing design, the big challenge in good design is the systems and collaborations we facilitate. And thatโs entirely human
Itโs Design Matters Tokyo 2025! Itโs cool to be back for an annual injection of new ideas and perspectives from the design world.
And Iโve already enjoyed some great conversations.
You know itโs been a hot summer when you check the temperature, see itโs 31c out and think โah, some cooler weather at lastโ. #tokyo
Sometimes what seems like a trivial feature request from a customer, when you look into it actually shows itself to be symptomatic of a much deeper beast of an issue hiding away.
Gotta validate those problems and connect those dots! #productdesign
Critical and systems thinking, always own these.
#AI can help your productivity in a ton of ways but once you give it control of those things you've sold yourself out.
So if you're in #Tokyo, love space and want to try out a really cool shared #VR experience you can do with friends, this is perfect.
Itโs popular so try to get there for opening if you want to avoid the queue! #TeNQ_VR

With the virtual camera photos in the experience, scanning your ticket QR code once youโre done gives you instant access to them. ๐ท
Here's me with the XR Tokyo event team.
The fact you can share the experience with friends really makes it as you explore and play catch with moon rocks. And of course, we geeked out over the tech behind it all too.
The whole experience is really nicely done. Avatar photos at check-in, smooth transition from MRโVR walking to the rocket, boarding, lift-offโฆ and you have a virtual camera!
Even the management of your time allowance is a seamless part of the experience.
Yesterday I visited Space Travelium TeNQ courtesy of STYLY to see The Moon Cruise experience they created for installation there. ๐
Itโs free roaming #VR, and so well designed and executed. Absolutely one of my all time favourite #XR experiences. Highly recommended!๐งต
gAI art is bad because it's stealing labor.
stealing labor from art is easy because no one sees art as labor, they see it as talent.
they see it as talent because it's easier to believe they have a right to hate you because they can't stand they gave up and you didn't.
fuck them, pay labor.

Both Genie 3 and Hunyuanโs GameCraft are opening the door for a potential metaverse more than anything weโve seen so far.
The ability for anyone to easily create compelling personalised worlds will amplify the draw to consumer #XR. Any "metaverse" adoption will be #AI driven.
It's holodeck tech.
This is the digital equivalent of shaming people for using their cars for essential daily life while cruise ships dwarf the impact of that for nothing but luxury.
Storage isnโt the problem, compute is. And even if it was an issue, storing them on your own personal drive would still be a better.
Itโs a real shame though because a lot of Adobeโs newer generation tools have great teams and the results show.
What enables them also seems to hold them back given that adoption I expect starts with individuals and not companies with budgets.
With Adobeโs #AR tool Aero being abandoned, despite it being free I have to wonder if the anticipation of an inevitable steep subscription cost stops people even trying it in the first place, let alone want to build a product on it.
Iโll post some shots once Iโve got a better splat in place to show case it.
Iโve managed to port some of the basic Gaussian Splatting VFX experiments I did last year from Unreal to Unity. Looks great!
VFXGraph made it an absolute pleasure, totally enabled by @_kzrโs open source packages.
Next step is to see what limitations I hit in #VR & #AR.
Hold up. Why
