People can say it’s utopian or dreamy but it’s a fact that you have to believe new things are possible, fundamentally, in order to make them real. You have to make the choice to believe that more than this is possible & not be resigned to this being the way things have to be because it’s not at all.
One of the reasons I don’t share “you’re more likely to develop Long Covid if you’re X,Y and/or Z” posts is because it gives folks who aren’t X,Y and/or Z a false sense of security and makes them less likely to take preventative measures.

A recent Congressional letter accuses DHS of not being compliant with a major civil rights law due to the mistreatment of disabled ICE detainees. As I reported for @motherjones.com, this is worsened by the fact DHS' office for civil rights has TWO EMPLOYEES now.
