Maybe I should. It’s not so far away. I saw them here in Portland a few years ago and it seemed like I could do that every summer night. Just raising my hand as curious…

Sounds beautiful and fortifying
🙌
🙌 Saw him play these songs at Washington Baths, gorgeous
This labels bats 💯
To win this beautiful stuff would bring me Oprah-esque disbelief, @myddling.bsky.social. The best song of all time is Cinquième Gnossiène by Erik Satie—his songs’ qualities are acutely understood by @jeremydenk.bsky.social in NYRB—but do kids agree?! I do also like The Loco-Motion by Kylie Minogue.
Worried Songs is a wonderful label. Beautiful physical stuff and just so many great albums. They came to town with Cameron Knowler last year and I’m thoroughly convinced 🫰
The video is really nice. “Its textures drawn from the landscape rather than imposed upon it.”
Relative Pitch!
Puppy Problems!
Love this line: “The sign with the text / «Training in progress» lights up / in the eyes of the hare.” Form seems inevitable to us, but the hare can see the sign plainly as a phenomenon.
This is a beauty. One of my first purchases as an early member @subvert.fm 💪
Lady Lamb! Maine!
Only recently learning about Shane Parish. His albums Undertaker Please Drive Slow and Repertoire take interpretation to a fascinating place. I don't know if he pulls out an essence as much as retells things in a clarified voice—the magic is in the playing rather than the intoxication of "song."
This album is so interesting! I really like El Haris [Anxious] for its textures. And the artwork by Evelyn Hofer led me to seek her out. Ty @juddgreenstein.bsky.social
This was great! Really loved the clear-headed advice about participation and understanding the web you want to live in.
Ruined my day yesterday. Grump.
Pierre Schaeffer on vinyl!
A very nice mixtape from @klofmag.com from November. I believe its editor Alex Gallacher does these? Learned about Scissor Tail Records, also Max García Conover—who is apparently from Maine and recording with Haley Heynderickx. Mixtape format +1! No. 71 looks good.

Love seeing several @ooyhrecords.bsky.social artists and Takuro Okada!
I wonder if it's New Year's resolutions related to exercise? Last summer I got into a good habit on the stationary bike—and I used "Sidestepping" to lower my heart rate. Lovely song.
Love the conceit of singing from the dentist’s chair. Also the awareness of a set with cameras. Great song, happy for this tip!
Je suis un prof collégien—il y a deux ans j’étais dans mes vingtaines, mais cette année mes cinquantaines. C’est difficile d’apprendre trente années de comportement si vite.
Done. Avery Friedman 🙌🌀
It's hard to imagine being so patient with the air you breathe. Eric Hehr gives great context to this album, and how it fit into Ammons' life. But also close feeling for the role of tone, which I just sit there and relish so much.
The universal in the particular, damn 💘😵💫
"If platforms push us toward individualized survival, we can refuse that horizon. We can rebuild capacities that make journalism durable. Editing, fact-checking, legal support, beats, mentorship and labour protections can exist outside legacy conglomerates." @therewasnosound.bsky.social
@newfeelingcoop.bsky.social w/ great points on precarity and gig platforms.
"But for things to change, we have to imagine more than hermit crabbing from one platform to the next: we have to resist the ways our work is becoming individualized in the first place."

This was great. She gave such eloquent responses! I was also nicely transported by those old Custom House Wharf photos from the section above 🕗
