As with AI art, these bros fail to understand that creative writing isnβt a slop bucket that needs refilling by any means possible. The reason creative writing is beloved is because it gives us insight into the thoughts and imaginations of fellow humans, not homogenized and plagiarized slurry

I've started book 2 of Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson & I'm getting close to finishing the Priory of the Orange Tree by @samanthashannon.bsky.social :D I'm really liking Mistborn but I like The Priory more! Such a stunning presentation of a fantastic world building project ππ
What are you reading? π
[PART 3] All of that mormon-culture-related stuff aside though, this book is excellent! Super fun magic system of course (it is Brandon Sanderson ;D) and excellent worldbuilding showcased through fantastic storytelling. (Do read trigger warnings before giving this a try however.) 4.25/5βοΈ
[PART 2] It's not something that a nevermo would pick up on but as an exmo it really stands out to me. Occasionally it pulls me out of the story but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It gives me time to analyze the literature, & it's a good illustration of how religion/culture affects worldview.
[PART 1] As an exmo, this was very interesting. Excellent writing of course (I mean it's Brandon Sanderson) but also...interesting. Don't get me wrong, there's no mormonism in book 1, but there are moments when I can see exactly how mormonism has influenced his view of morality and philosophy etc.

three shepherds are laying next to one another in some grass with golden sunlight filtering through trees in the background. from left to right, they are white, brown, and black. they also have matching pink tongues, all hanging out of their mouths.
This is Oakley, Kaos, and Charlie. They are proof that if you like something, you should get it in a couple colors. 13/10 for all
I mean I actually do have insomnia lol, but my good book and my missing respect for tomorrow are not exactly helping π€£
"Heartless" by Marissa Meyer is as quirky & unexpected as you'd expect from an Alice in Wonderland story, & I adore it! The book begins with our lovely Cath happily baking in a sunny kitchen, but by the very end you'll be saying along with her: "Off with his head!" Fantabulous novel, I love it! 5/5β
I love dragons because they're so cute but they also look like a little guy (ππ)

a black and tan dachshund puppy stands in front of a blanket pile and looks at the camera. his long ears hang down lower than his chin, and theyβre fanned backwards slightly so you can see their tan interiors and little black tips. his right ear covers up most of his long sausage body so you can just make out his black rump and little tan back paw. his tan eyebrow dots are raised slightly and heβs looking at you with a stoic, closed-mouth defiant expression.
This is Ralph. His body composition is approximately 40% ear. But that does not mean he wants to listen to your podcast. 12/10 (IG: ralph_kd0821)
This is Porkchop. He's got better dance moves than we ever did or ever will, let's be honest. 14/10
