The riot eventually involved more than 1,000 persons and was put under control only after three squads of Newark police reserves aug- mented the local forces. The po- lice used their nightsticks and the invading anti-Nazis utilized brick-bats, broomsticks, rocks and stench bombs. Hundreds Greet Arrivals.
