I just don't understand a willingness to call this product going from woefully inadequate to simply meh as a substantive success for fans. I don't think MASN has earned an ounce of praise for coming closer to what should be seen as standard, floor requirements for the industry.

Yes, MASN actually broadcasting games is good. But I think you should care because it is a worse product with remote announcers. (An issue today came up during the Albernaz interview, even.) To me, it just shows things aren't up to snuff, and in a billion-dollar league, they should be better.
