Kinda feels like this splits the issue of games media to the bone; if a live service game is a product, a toy, this suggestion is a problem. If it’s art, and its themes and ideas require time to explore via play, this suggestion is pretty reasonable.

People do still want to have novel, kinetic experiences with their friends. But the sheep are no longer willing to be shorn by battle passes and seasons and skins and shit to do it. You cut too much, we're skint. For at least the next several years all yall gonna have to aim for Peak not Marathon.
A lot of (understandable) reactions to this based in critiques of the industry but I think we need to leave room for a game simply not being very good. You can’t academically argue out of audience apathy for genre and form.
