Got some great pages that day for not much money. But I was SO annoyed to not be taking that cover home.
At a New York Comic Art Convention in the early '70s, there was an original art charity auction. I would signal to my father whenever a page I was interested in went up. When this cover was revealed, he misunderstood my glances, and he didn't bid. It was the one that got away!
