That makes a lot of logical sense. Going to check out that paper. My home region of Washington State has several active faults and single-threaded rivers so it would be interesting to look at them again. I‘ve gotten too accustomed to looking at river courses through deep time only here. Thanks again
This is so cool! Thanks for sharing and for providing the before/after shots too. In your experience have you found these effects to be more pronounced for areas with heavily braided rivers?
Jeez! It boggles the mind that anyone can think of an era of spying on and reporting your neighbors/peers is going end well and will be reflected upon kindly through the lens of history. :/
Hahaha these all bring back memories
The Unbreakable one still gets me every time all these years later

Pro tip: if you rent a car in NZ make sure the place you’re staying at doesn’t have the narrowest parking garage in the world where it’s impossible to maneuver without scraping the side of the car door. (I’m looking at you, Quest on Eden Crescent in Auckland!)
W O W ok I will get it and add to the reading list.
Do you recommend it Brn?
Oh and the beaches around Melb were also v pretty
Idk how my friends put up with me but I’m glad they do. Was giving commentary the entire trip to the nature preserve.
