Turns out there were 3-4 people just over the age in the group acting like they were Borg-ed just to get her
I was trying to ignore it pre-release because I wasn't weirdly hoping it wouldn't be BUT IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT
........it might cause us to cave.......
And no show gets room to find itself at the start, so the seasons that are rougher are all you ever get
Once you hit that stretch of the good seasons, even the OKAY episodes are arguably better than most modern TV.
It's that thing I keep getting to. It feels like the reason newer shows fail isn't as much bad writing, but the way TV is allowed to be is so limited now.
I said things like this a lot to myself rewatching TNG again last year.
"Huh. This show I've loved and so many others do really is pretty great. WEIRD."
