One thing that strikes me is that critique of art is now met with anger, like "this is not a pipe" would blow someones mind, but the banana ductaped to a wall is laughable because people thought it was art, it IS art in that it makes one question what constitutes art

to you probably wasnt seen that way by others when it was made, literacy has skyrocketed with education and thus the things that were once literately beautiful are pretty uninventive now and don't comment on much

I think people forget when they look at modern abstract art is at some point the thing that is "obviously artistic and beautiful"-
