my hope is that popular accs in fandom will come make gcs on bluesky when the feature launches and other users will be inclined to get active because of fomo. this doesn't work though if not enough people are interested in making gcs

my read is that gcs are the most important feature that's preventing bluesky from succeeding in the fandom space. bluesky appeals to people in fandom who prioritize building community over entertainment. it's a lot harder to build a close community without having private gcs

i will say bluesky can also be very negative. though i cant blame people doomposting given what's happening in the world. there is enough people here to make it worthwhile but i just wish there was more engagement in my spaces

i once asked my mom why she couldn't have gotten me diagnosed with adhd as a child given that she knew i had it (my dad has diagnosed adhd). and she said that she took me to get evaluated but they weren't willing to investigate it for this exact reason 😐

i get it but i just cant bring myself to be on there. looking at twt is like a guilty pleasure but it's so overwhelmingly negative. i havent tried threads though!

the pretending to have adhd thing will always be crazy for me. the inside of my brain is like chasing after a child that runs away from you in the grocery store. my mind escapes me. it's horrible

this is tangential but i saw a "dating tip" on tiktok or something that recommended taking a first date to the museum so that you could quickly assess their intelligence based on their interpretation of the artwork. i would absolutely fail that test because i too think "wow look at those boats" 🫣
