Just reading @aptshadow.bsky.social’s latest, ‘Pretenders to the Throne of God’, having another ‘fuck me, that’s good’ moment, and thinking this is one of the most consistently excellent series I’ve read in years. So many series start strong, but then peter out, but this one is still roaring! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
My head was in a different place first time, but this time round, it was like a healing balm. The remaining seasons are superb too.

I’ve never played the games - I only have a secondhand knowledge of what goes on - but you can tell they love the storytelling possibilities the setting provides.
It makes such a refreshing change to watch something with decent scriptwriters, so that the great cast has something to get their teeth into 😁

Oh of course. The asymmetry is lovely. Our last game was Glorantha: The Gods War, so it was also fun to compare and contrast. I don’t think I completely came to grips with my tactics for Nyarlathotep in time, but it was all great fun, and I’m looking forward to our next go 😁🐙
We are hoping to give it another play in a couple of months with some of the additional factions. This was our first go though, so we kept it to the basics 😁👍🏻

Finally got a chance to play Glorantha: The Gods War - a boardgame I’ve had sitting unplayed on my shelf for bloody ages! What a great game! Lovely game figures and board and really fun gameplay. Ok, you need a football pitch to play it on, but Timothy Payne has that perfect pitch-sized table 😁👍🏻.
