My latest graphic novel, Flip, is out tomorrow! β¨
HIRE RAY!!! They are so good, dedicated, and professional. I truly love working with them!!
A childβs drawing of a horse with human hands driving a car, with a note: You were right: this *is* hard βNora
I like to close out my talks sometimes by trying to draw my least favorite things as quickly as possible (horse, hands, car π).
A note arrived after one of these talks. I love it to bits. Itβs going on a wall.

Thank you!
Thank you!!!
Iβve been working on 9x12β Bristol for a while! At this point Iβm printing all my layouts from digital, penciling analog, and then I either ink with a brush or work with a digital inker. (Hi @cavetoonist.bsky.social!) The actual physical margins vary a little bit, but the proportions are locked!
Yeah, i work with wide margins on my boards, but the ruling is all to spec for Graphixβs template. I donβt do a ton of full bleed.

Wonderful news, but a big surprise for me; I didn't think we were even eligible for 2025! π
As someone who has lived my whole adult life in cities deemed βdangerousββNYC, NOLA, and SFβI think a lot about how dense cities require patience, calm, and tolerance in the midst of social difference, which are of course exactly the civic virtues that the right resents being told to cultivate.
Along with five other amazing graphic novels. Not a bad one in the bunch. Congrats to everyone!
The Cartoonists Club is nominated for a Harvey Award!! @scottmccloud.bsky.social
this thread (in response to colin kaepernick's "make comics with AI" venture) is just spot on.
for extra context, great coverage from the beat and popverse last year:

HARD CO-SIGN!!!
Pencil, paper, done.
i just did a workshop with kids about making comics. emphasized that ANYONE can make comics. you don't have to be a "good" artist. you find a story that matches your art style and you do it and it's awesome. and a kid who NEVER PARTICIPATES got out from under a desk and PARTICIPATED and had a blast.

I launched my webcomic today! πβ¨ VALOR is a sci-fi comic about a team of salvage operators who grapple with what it means to be human after discovering an illegal humanoid robot abandoned on a derelict transport ship. I'd be so delighted if you check it out!!! :3 valorbot.webcomic.ws
π§΅Loved The Cartoonists Club by @goraina.bsky.social and @scottmccloud.bsky.social ! Itβs a βhow toβ disguised as fiction for kids. A love letter to making comics. The comics community is one of those where everyone involved is there because they truly love comics. This graphic novelβ¦

I think some people have trouble seeing fascism as anything other than 1940s Germany.
But I think 'people going to a comic convention needing to have a plan in case the government's goons show up to disappear people' is a pretty good demonstration of what it can look like in 2025.
