Radio in Room 302 saying "Police arrested a Mr. Suguru Murakoshi after he was discovered naked, urinating..."
Broadcast continues "...from the top of a utility pole in North Ashfield."
SH4 - There is a very low chance that in the radio in Room 302 there will be a joke broadcast about the game's director, Suguru Murakoshi, getting arrested for public indecency.

Douglas' dead body in the Possessed ending. His eyes are partially open, so it's difficult to see his pupils.
Douglas' dead model with open eyes. His pupils are noticeably dilated.
Douglas' regular model while alive for comparison, when checking on him after meeting at Lakeside Amusement Park.
SH3 - Although it's almost impossible to see, Douglas' dead model from the Possessed ending has dilated pupils, a characteristic seen in recently dead bodies. The rest of his models use more constricted pupils for his eyes, so this was a conscious choice.

Map after meeting Sakuko at her house. Hinako writes, below Sakuko's doodle, "500 yen".
SHf - Because Hinako updates her map as she goes along, there's a humorous (possibly unintentional) instance where, after meeting Sakuko and getting called a traitor at the start of the game, she immediately writes down on the map that Sakuko owes her 500 yen.

Henry examining the desk during the Forest World. He thinks: "There are scraps from magazine articles, but I don't remember why I cut them out."
Henry examining the desk during the Water Prison. He thinks "I can't remember what magazine I cut them out from."
Henry examining the desk during the Hospital World. He thinks "There are scraps from magazine articles, but..... I don't remember cutting them out...."
SH4 - Henry gradually forgets details and becomes unsure of his activities in the apartment as the game goes on. In this example, he first forgets why he was cutting scraps from magazines, then forgets what magazines he was working with, and finally forgets doing it altogether.

Pyramid Head's reveal promo image for Return to Silent Hill, showing half of the new knife design.
The best view I could get of the great knife in the movie, before Pyramid Head puts it down to beat up the spider monster.
We arrive at the present. Return to Silent Hill, despite being based off Silent Hill 2, gives Pyramid Head a Great Knife heavily based on Homecoming's combat knife design, but with a similar handle to the past movies. It's more blunt than sharp, as well.

Moving onto the films, the 2006 movie had a knife design still quite similar to SH2's, but without the scissors axis, the edge of the blade in the opposite side, and a different curve at the tip.

Render of Homecoming's in-game knife design. Its handle is wrapped in tape.
In-game model of the Homecoming knife. It's very slightly different in shape and it lacks the handle tape.
However, Pyramid Head uses a completely different knife in-game. It now has a serrated edge continuous to the handle, and it ends in a sharper, curved point, which makes it similar to a combat knife.

Unused cover art for Homecoming's Japanese release, featuring Pyramid Head holding the redesigned knife.
Homecoming's promotional artwork shows a different design derived from the classic SH2 look. In these, the knife doesn't show a scissors axis, featuring a rough wooden handle instead. The edge of the blade is also moved to the opposite side.

James would've gotten the other half of the scissors, but that design wasn't modeled differently and it was scrapped.
In the remake, the design is largely the same. This knife is also used in The Arcade and the pachislot based off SH2.

A look at Pyramid Head's various Great Knives throughout the series.
In SH2, the edge of the blade is continuous with the handle. It was designed with the intention of being one half of a pair of scissors, as can be seen in the axis at the end of the handle.

This official map appears to be a very modified version of a fanmade map by jam6i. This is a very popular map for "what Silent Hill looks like" put together. This is evident from the island east of Central SH (an original creation by jam6i) and the land for Shepherd's Glen.

Now onto some curious things. Because South Vale doesn't exist, the whole southwest/central side is purely nature, with some paths leading away from the road. The Wish House grounds are not featured; instead, there's a place named "South Community Park."
