The retro pixel art aesthetic in video games is so last year - the new in thing (according to me, so it's legit) is the segmented LCD style, like the early Nintendo Game & Watch handhelds.
I found out about this when I saw a post about "fixing people's accents" - people can't seem to appreciate the effort non-English speakers go to in order to provide content for people who think there's only one spoken language. 🤬

Sadly, that will never happen - when profit is the only motive and funding comes from investors there is zero artistic freedom. Luckily indie game developers have found that sweet spot that appeals to gamers and Steam does an amazing job of supporting the indie market. 😊

Sadly the ST was never available in South Africa (that I know of) - only the classic consoles made it here.
