A misty forest path stretching straight into the fog, surrounded by tall pines and bare late-autumn trees. Soft light filters through the haze, giving the scene a quiet, dreamlike feel. Fallen leaves in warm browns and reds frame the trail, creating a tranquil forest scape perfect for ForestFriday.
As the days settle into their winter calm, it becomes easier to see what mattered, what didnβt, and what we want to make room for in the next chapter.

Morning mist rises from the water along the shoreline of a cove. Brightly fall-colored trees are on the shoreline and a ridge above.
Morning on Fontana Lake, GSMNP. Remember #OptOutside.

That is very important. My uncle had a seafood shop and he never ate them outside of his control. We got oyster scared from an early age on. Fortunately I also don't like themπ
Thanks hedy. I love snow so much. βοΈ The world is softer buried under the snow.
I knew someone who caught some parasites from them, got very sick and the only thing I could think was nope not for me, never.....π¬
Much alcohol and hot oysters. What could possibly go wrongπ¬
No.....did people eat themπ€’ ....?

On an evening I nearly stayed indoors, Iβm so glad I didnβt! An outdoor swimming area in Bangor, Northern Ireland.

This atmospheric monochrome photo captures an extreme low-angle perspective, looking vertically upward into a dense, atmospheric fog that envelops towering urban architecture. The image's dominated by strong vertical lines & high contrast, creating a stark, almost abstract representation of a city veiled in mist. On the left, a massive skyscraper ascends dramatically, its many horizontal window lines converging towards a vanishing point high above, the very top completely lost to the thick, grey haze, suggesting immense height and the overwhelming presence of the weather. Mirroring this on the right, another building rises, characterised a repeating patterns of dark, recessed windows framed by solid vertical and horizontal lines. This structure also disappears into the oppressive, monochrome sky. In the lower-left corner, a third building is partially visible. This structure has a slightly different, more ornate architectural style, with an illuminated section at its peak where several windows glow with light, providing the only source of bright illumination within the composition besides the diffused light from the sky. The sky itself is a vast expanse of greys, a featureless void where the fog has completely obscured any view of the true sky or sun. The transition between the solid forms of the buildings & the ethereal fog is soft & gradual, adding to the mysterious and somewhat isolating mood of the shot. The overall feeling is one of urban grandeur meeting natural elements, where the man-made structures are humbled by the pervasive fog. The lack of colour emphasises the textures, shapes & the interplay of light & shadow. The composition uses the edges of the frame to suggest an environment that extends far beyond what is visible, a dense concrete jungle shrouded in a silent, grey blanket. The perspective distorts the usual perception of height, making the viewer feel small & encased within this towering, misty canyon. The silence of the scene is palpable.
'Into the Void'
Manhattan skyscrapers swallowed by winter fog which had a profound muted effect on the city acoustics!

It's impressive, there is not much high rise building here. Isn't it weird when the city quiets down?
Such a beautiful picture Sparty!

The sun coming up over the dark mountains and trees, while a large group of ducks bathe in the river. The sky and water are beautiful shades of orange and yellow, and there are several clouds in the distance.
I like waking up at the quack of dawn. π

Kind of dognapped my friends dog and walked to the lake where we tried to freeze it again by pure willpower. The sun made some pretty lines on the thin ice.

SnΓΆdimma or 'snow mist 'comes up when the temperature is around freezing point and the sun is too low to make it go away. Everything is pleasantly vague. No blue skies today.
Happy monday anyway.π
