This was obviously bad for kids even when I was a kid

Every argument against doing this basically seems to start from the assumption that social media is a good thing that children are being kept from.

Fun thing to think about very briefly: who currently has better lawyers, the United States or Nintendo

The great thing about big tech is that they’re not *our* precious corporations, it’s not Rogers or RBC that are frog-boiling people into chuds

I’m honestly open to the possibility that he’s been having some kind of health issues and won’t delegate.

What’s weird is that he did seem to have it in the leadership race.

It’s possible, but I think it would take almost literally every operational air and land asset they gave

Five years before the war over Kosovo, Eliot Cohen published a widely
cited article in Foreign Affairs, β€œThe Mystique of US Air Power.” He
argued, β€œAir power is an unusually seductive form of military strength,
in part because, like modern courtship, it appears to offer gratification
without commitment."

The fate of the Iranian people is genuinely heartbreaking.

An incredible, dynamic society is being suffocated millimetres below the surface before our eyes by theocracy, climate change and mindless war.

Two tweets by Chris Cappy. One saying 'Delta Force needs to kidnap the leader of Spain.' and 'Is there a Vice King in Spain who would be easier to work with?'

He's yelling at the dumbass Fox News guy. Definitely starting to feel the heat. Will it matter? Who knows, but he's not comfy right now and that makes me feel good.

I've said this a couple times now, but: *something* happened here that this administration cannot admit to. And give that this administration happily admitted to murdering fishermen in the Caribbean for sport, whatever went on last weekend has to have been BAD if they're trying to hide it.

Canada created more jobs in 2025 (! year of the economic attack!) than the U.S., tho the U.S. job market is 7.5 times bigger.

"Health" generated 41% of the new jobs. "Care" (incl educ) almost 1/2.
Demographics guarantees that this job juggernaut will continue to dominate. Demand>supply everywhere.

Something has really changed here. This type of long term military commitment and indifference to the stock market are new behaviours.

I hate them all. They took the sentiment from those of us tired of the overt Christianity from our government and then ran with β€œall religions are dumb, but me, not an expert, am here to tell you, Islam is the worst”.

The permanent daylight savings vs. standard time debate is so based on vibes. There's research showing that permanent standard time would be better for a number of important outcomes (e.g., health), and yet you have normally sensible people go like, "Ah, but I really like to have long evenings"

06.03.2026 20:59 πŸ‘ 24 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 10 πŸ“Œ 1

like i said this when the US attacked venezuela. we are hurdling back into an extremely violent world, one which hasn't really existed since the 1700s and which nobody since hitler has really tried to enact. and it's entirely on trump's hands

06.03.2026 17:46 πŸ‘ 863 πŸ” 144 πŸ’¬ 24 πŸ“Œ 6

there's a thing I like to call "load-bearing assumptions", that you don't notice until they're suddenly gone (e.g the air you breath has oxygen in it).

the post-ww2 order is a load-bearing assumption for basically the entirety of american life. trump took a sledgehammer to it in the last 90 days.
