Obviously we see the occasional Herring Gull here in Cheadle Hulme, but one on top of a lamppost 'yelping' in Sainsburys car park took me right back to living in Hove!

Had to call in to see the Taiga Bean octet in Ayrshire this morning to add to the haul in this winter of geese. And then onwards to Kintyre and a Russian Whitefront amongst 256 Greenlands at Rhunahaorine #goosing #scottishbirding

Both the house sparrow and the European starling are allowed to be exterminated because they are considered to be "immigrants" in America. If they are taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center they are supposed to be euthanized. I understand the HS in in decline.
