Arts centres and libraries are trusted civic spaces, and that trust is what made these UK-wide conversations on what freedom means today possible. Read Annabel and Gavin's reflections on #OurFreedom: Then and Now π
Sun coming up through trees in the distance, with light falling on the grassed area of parkland in the foreground. The sky is a pale blue with a few white, wispy clouds.

Wonderful, I'll be there!
North East pals, I'm doing a gig @drakebookshop.bsky.social on 1st June so come say hi, it's always a good do when I team up with them.

Gorgeous riverside walk this morning, starting at #SanSebCoffee and carrying on to @drakebookshop.bsky.social (where I was very excited to pick up a copy of #Keshed by @stuhennigan.bsky.social!). Not a bad way to start the day...

I agree! Antidepressants is great, and Autofiction is a particular favourite for me.

Simeon Walker speaking to the audience from his piano stool in front of the Steinway he was playing this evening.
From the first notes, I just knew this was going to be an absolutely incredible evening. The wonderful @simeonwalker.bsky.social bringing the power of art, creativity, and community to Helmsley Arts Centre. Well worth the trip over the Moors on a winter Friday night β¨οΈ

Loved it! I really liked both of those pieces. Sujata Setia's A Thousand Cuts (harrowing, but compelling) and Peter Spanjer's SWIM grabbed me, too, amongst others, and I was fascinated by Nothing Can Ever Be The Same (the generative film) - looking at the tech-based stuff with a keener eye, now!
