Screenshot of an OMA email in my inbox, Jan 18, 2024: At this stage in our discussions with the ministry, itโs clear the Year 3 compensation adjustment will be less than the 2.1 to 3.6 per cent range that had been anticipated during 2021-2024 PSA negotiations, primarily because of the unanticipated and unprecedented growth in Ontarioโs population. Specifically, the population growth in 2023 is 3.1 per cent, which equals to around half a million new Ontarians. This is the highest growth in any single year since 1972, and more than double the average population growth of 1.3 per cent over the last 50 years.โฏThis growth simply could not have been anticipated at the time the parties were negotiating the PSA.
Screenshot of a Global News article, Feb 17, 2026: Later, during a fireside chat, the minister put it more clearly: โOur health-care spending is unsustainable. We just have to deal with reality that we canโt keep spending, particularly when our population is flattening.โ The comments come at a time when hospitals warned the government they are facing a billion-dollar structural deficit and are now preparing for โdifficult decisionsโ unless the Ford government increases health-care funding in its upcoming budget.

So many excuses for starving public health care. Who cares if they make sense or are consistent?

Chart showing recent confirmed measles cases per year in England ranging from 1,414 in 2013 to 2,911 in 2024 and 91 in 2015
๐งตWhat is going on with Measles in England?
UKHSA has reported 96 confirmed measles cases since 1 Jan 2026, concentrated in London (64% of cases) and the West Midlands (26% of cases).
But what does this all mean? Is 96 a lot? Why is it happening? And what can we do about it? 1/8
Wow.
Under Trump's first year back in the White House, U.S. Farm bankruptcies rose 46% in 2025. The last time farm bankruptcies were this high was way back in 2020โwhen Trump was President.
Who woulda thought that a failed businessman and convicted fraudster who promotes tariffs could do this???
Construction of the East Wing of the White House has come to a screeching halt.
Itโs likely to be unfinished when Trump leaves office.
There are currently hundreds of millions of dollars unaccounted for.

Trump-administration officials and MAGA influencers have repeatedly called these activists โviolentโ and said they are involved in โriots.โ But the resistance in Minnesota is largely characterized by a conscious, strategic absence of physical confrontation. Activists have made the decision to emphasize protection, aid, and observation. When matters escalate, it is usually the choice of the federal agents. Of the three homicides in Minneapolis this year, two were committed by federal agents. โThereโs been an incredible, incredible response from the community. Iโve seen our neighbors go straight from allies to familyโmore than familyโchecking in on each other, offering food and rides for kids and all kinds of support, alerting each other if thereโs ICE or any kind of danger,โ Malika Dahir, a local activist of Somali descent, told me. If the Minnesota resistance has an overarching ideology, you could call it โneighborismโโa commitment to protecting the people around you, no matter who they are or where they came from. The contrast with the philosophy guiding the Trump administration couldnโt be more extreme. Vice President Vance has said that โit is totally reasonable and acceptable for American citizens to look at their next-door neighbors and say, โI want to live next to people who I have something in common with. I donโt want to live next to four families of strangers.โโ Minnesotans are insisting that their neighbors are their neighbors whether they were born in Minneapolis or Mogadishu. That is, arguably, a deeply Christian philosophy, one apparently loathed by some of the most powerful Christians in America.
One thing I found deeply moving about resistance in the Twin Cities was the universalism of loving your neighbor, the philosophy driving the opposition to the ICE/BP invasion. I couldn't help but notice the contrast with the blood and soil-ism of Miller and Vance. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

The same mRNA technology used in COVID vaccines is now cutting melanoma recurrence and death nearly in HALF by training the immune system to recognize cancer.
This is why we fund science and support mRNA technology.

It's only a matter of time before they get co-opted into mass surveillance. And if the regime you live under changes that's you spying on your neighbours.
