The real humdinger on all this (I didn't care about aphantasia particularly) was finding out about the bizarre memory deficits that come with it and the fact that episodic memory (all episodic memory) is apparently bound up with whatever the aphantasia thing is. And that's harder to mistake.
It's not. I can't make a red hexagon or green square come up in my mind's eye for one million dollars but a sense of spatial relationships isn't bound up with the same faculty so "remembering" homes, where a chair or a window is, isn't bound up with that.
