Yes, you are quite right. But for whatever reason I only came to that one recently whereas I’ve had the others as long as i can remember and they totally blew my mind when I first heard them. It will sound unlikely but I actually discovered Carole King and Stephen Stills from the Isleys…
Ooooh. Mad to say but I think the Isleys (especially the T Neck era) are horrendously under-rated. Brother, Brother, Brother and Giving It Back are foundational records for me.
