15 Feb 2021 WaWa Map
My database indicates that tomorrow is marginally behind 15 Feb 2021 as having the most number of counties/zones simultaneously under a Winter Storm Warning since at least 2008. Currently at 998 vs 1043 during 2021. Historical NWS WaWa Maps are here: mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/timemachine/...

Ever seen a βvolnadoβ before?
Check out this video from USGS of a whirlwind kicking up loose ash deposits along the active fountain and flow within the HalemaΚ»umaΚ»u crater of Kilauea!
According to USGS, these whirlwinds have been documented during several eruptive episodes downwind of the eruption
I am speechless...
