I've only ever visited NYC, never lived there so I can't speak to the day-to-day experience like you can. I just know that in general, the MTA tends to be better for wait times. But at the same time, I rely on the red line daily to get downtown and I rarely have issues during rush hour.

Also we have ✨alleys✨ - meaning i feel Chicago is much cleaner lol.

I will say the MTA is a lot more reliable than the CTA, but I mean its fine... just expect to sometimes wait a bit more than you might be used too (especially on weekends and late at night). Chicago is a great value though, especially compared to NYC - I feel you get 70% of NYC at 25% of the cost.

What makes you interested in Chicago over NYC tho?
