... oh, and here we go.
> For example, he continues to repeat the three-decade old rumor that vaccines cause autism
of course he does, what did I expect. 🙄
an interesting take on the "appeal to nature fallacy" (in the context of healthcare in the US and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. - but I find the general concept most interesting)

Bez ohledu na možnost přespání vyrazit pěšky krajinou nanejvýše doporučuji:)
This study suggests that if Autistic people stop masking their suicide risk is cut in half.
HALF! 50% less dead people. 1/2 the funerals.
Unmasking could save your life
Embracing self-ID'd Autistics may save theirs
Responsible self-ID reduces risk*
If you tell me you're Autistic, I believe you.
Twin Peaks was a show about how America is a surreal, cursed hell dimension but amidst it all there are individual decent people and most of them are autistic, so obviously it was pretty formative for me.
the problem with "stupidity hurts" is that it doesn't say whom does it hurt. 😖 just sayin... 😬
apart from that, i agree
a special feature of my flavour of The 'Tism™ is that individual limbs or fingers can be in a different state (frozen or overheated) at the same time
did i say i hate it?
i hate it hate it hate it hate it.
winter
in this weather, my limbs are either freezing to the point of producing sharp pain or absolutely overheated and oversensitive to touch. nothing in between.
#autism #sensoryoverload
it is beautiful and inspiring.
wow.
what if alzheimer's was an album...
listening to this in my grandma's house 💔
super heavy, approach with caution (and awe)

100% agree. the definition by minfulness is on spot
this is a "even a broken clock is correct two times a day" situation.
but... good, nevertheless
non-pasteurized milk is more difficult to store (as in, you need to sell it more quickly, which may bring extra costs)
IMHO, forcibly keeping such seats empty in peak hours would only encourage the division "us" vs. "them" and would be a disservice to the vulnerable groups in the long-term
in the end, it is cultivating respect and kindness within the society, which actually helps
in my country, we have seats where people who are elderly, disabled or pregnant have priority, and all they need to do is ask in case the other passenger didn't notice them and vacate the seat on their own (which is often the case)
it works pretty well in most cases
"Lord and colleagues (2012) recently showed that the best predictor of an Asperger’s disorder diagnosis is not the characteristics of the individual, but the specific clinic the individual goes to." lol
do you see any downsides of making that decision?

I really like this and return to visit it every year or so. As an autistic person, It's helped me visualize and think about how I approach interactions with others online and otherwise
👏👏👏
This is nothing against self-diagnosis or autism but I diagnose him as a massive asshole
I understand & relate. That is, however, the advantage of social network. They can have their looks towards their phones, privately, without bothering you. And that way you also collect people who accept you without having to mask...
Screenshot with excerpt of a handout by: University of Washington Autism Center In our experience at the University of Washington Autism Center, many professionals are not informed about the variety of ways that autism can appear, and often doubt an autistic person’s accurate self-diagnosis. In contrast, inaccurate self-diagnosis of autism appears to be uncommon. We believe that if you have carefully researched the topic and strongly resonate with the experience of the autistic community, you are probably autistic. https://depts.washington.edu/uwautism/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Self-Diagnosed-Adult-Autism-Resources-handout-9-22-22.pdf
For anyone out there who has self-assessed as #autistic, and can't access a formal assessment/diagnosis (or don't want to for your own reasons), this is for you:

I think you sharing something so vulnerable can be really helpful to people with similar experiences. So unless you are worried sharing this can have some adverse consequences, e.g. someone reading it who shouldn't have, I encourage you to keep it here...
The meme I didn't know I needed
Most definitely not. If someone has a problem with it, they are free to leave... 💁♂️
ueaeprints.uea.ac.uk/id/eprint/97... Useful new research on the experiences of late diagnosed autistic people, and social trauma. Lots on how much rethinking people have to do, about social situations that were a nightmare in the past.
another thing entirely is that many ADHD symptoms overlap with (c)PTSD symptoms...
if you don't mind me asking, how exactly did they conclude these tests with you?
i got my diagnosis based on the fact that my attention and short-term memory are average but other parameters are above average - and the difference is a sign of a disorder (according to the clinical psychologist)
