Did you know that the share of Scotland block grant to overall spend in the UK has DROPPED to its lowest share in over a decade
Analysis of the facts and figures contained in the House of Commons library confirm that it has decreased from 8.2% in 2015-16 to 7.6% as of July Wiping Β£6.4 billion off it

Why are politicians and media pundits continually bemused by the success of the Scottish National Party, in a country where the majority of the electorate support independence?
Wake up and smell the coffee, unionists!

Because the people who pay their wages make them think that way.

Japan has formally declared that Israel's military actions against Iran constitute a violation of international law. This condemnation adds to a growing list of nationsβ€”including Denmark, France, Spain & Italyβ€”who have publicly questioned the legality of the current offensive.

The debasement of political judgement of Tory leader Kemi Badenoch & the neoconservative war advocates over Trump & Netanyahu's war with Iran is a watershed moment. Badenoch, Farage & the British right have lined up unconditionally behind Trump's war.

β€œScotland’s Champion” now printed in England; SAD.
Seriously, it is sad these printing jobs have been lost.
Could the editorial stance of the paper had anything to do with plummeting sales?

Reform vote share seems to have plateaued 🀞.
You may be right about some Tories finding Reform repulsive but some, no doubt, will be tempted due to unionist reasons & Reform likely to gain a bigger vote share on the list.

Scotland has always had a hardcore 15-25% Tory/unionist vote over the last 40 years.
Sad thing is, some of that support has moved further right no doubt encouraged by the rw UK media.

I have no idea how a poll commissioned by an organisation which is constitutionally obliged to protect the British union, could find so many Yes to No switchers…

Crypto investor based in Thailand donates further Β£3m to Reform Christopher Harborne’s gift is latest to party’s election war chest and comes amid calls for cap on political donations

Who the hell is this guy? And what does he want as a return on his Β£millions invested in Reform? Because it sure as shit isn’t a fairer, more progressive, equal and prosperous UK with good public services and well-regulated consumer protections.

There needs to be a wholesale review into how political parties are funded.
This smells of bribery & corruption which is not a good look for democracy in the UK.

Reform dare to pretend they are an anti-establishment party. But in truth they are the party of crony corporate capitalism and the elites funded by such people to look after their own interests. Latest figures from the Electoral Commission on political party donations.

To highlight how bizarre that BBC Scotland #indyref poll from Savanta was, I applied yesterday’s Ipsos voting figures to the 2014 Yes sample in the Savanta poll. These were 71% /18% /10% (Yes/No/DK). This gives us a 60% Yes vote (excluding don’t knows).

As mentioned by @weegingerdug.bsky.social there is something very odd about this poll. The 2014 Yes sample has increased massively- but many seem to be β€˜false flag’ Yessers who either lied or misremembered their 2014 vote.

My latest blog piece. The BBC's Scottish indy poll is very odd indeed, more polling on the Holyrood election and BBC Scotland's double standards following the arrest of right wing Labour MP Joani Reid's husband on suspicion of spying for China.

BBC’s James Cook was also quite disparaging this morning about Ardrossan Harbour being nationalised.
This is a good outcome because Peel Ports weren’t prepared to upgrade the harbour.
JC almost implied the ferries should have been smaller to suit the existing port!
BBC can’t help themselves.

HR has already given local authorities the right to raise a visitor levy (or tourist tax).
Eg. Edinburgh’s scheme is planned to start on the 24/7/26 and is set at 5% on accommodation costs up-to the first 5 nights of stay in B&B’s, hotels, camp-sites & short-term lets.
LA’s can set their own rate.
