The Olympic Games featured 82 nations and 2,536 athletes. The Games were the first time Canada won gold in an official sport as a host nation of the Olympics. Canada set a record for the most gold medals won at a single Winter Olympics with 14 and finished at the top of the medal table. In total, Canada won 26 medals.
