An article βMore than one million foreign nationals are receiving benefitsβ (March 17, 2025) referred to the number of βforeign nationalsβ receiving benefits, and gave the rate of benefit claims for various nationalities. In fact, the particular DWP data on which the article was based recorded the nationality of claimants when registering for a National Insurance number, rather than the nationality at the time they were claiming benefits, so that some claimants might have since acquired UK citizenship, and would not be foreign nationals at the time they were claiming benefits. This correction has been published following an upheld ruling by the Independent Press Standards Organisation. Advertisement
Fully *one year later*, the Telegraph has been forced (by @ipso.co.uk) to admit that it was lying about foreign nationals claiming benefits.
Hi Nigel Farage, you know you were just asked about your pledge to lower Council Tax during the local elections and you angrily denied it?
Hereβs your partyβs main Twitter account saying it, during the local elections.

Put simply: We are assisting the aggressor and instigator of an illegal war to help them continue their operations. This βdefensiveβ nonsense needs to stop.
Given that Israel hasnβt given a shit about international law for at least the last 70-odd years, Iβm going to hazard a guess at βNoβ.
Home Office Home Office refuses to exempt exceptional students from tough immigration rules Exclusive: Foreign secretary Yvette Cooper concerned about student visa ban on female Chevening scholars from volatile countries such as Afghanistan Pippa Crerar Political editor Tue 10 Mar 2026 The Home Office rejected an appeal from the foreign secretary, Yvette Cooper, that would have protected outstanding students in some of the world's most dangerous countries from changes to the UK's immigration system, the Guardian understands.
That Starmer keeps Mahmood in post shows this is not just the actions of an inhumane Home Secretary, but a deeper rooted ideology of hostility and xenophobia within this government. No-one benefits from blocking Chevening scholars. This is cruelty for sake of it.

1. Are you currently using an AI tool for work-related tasks or projects? * Yes * No, but I would like to (PLEASE SKIP TO QUESTION 7)
My employer asks me to complete a survey on AI usage for which this is the first question (required):
Who'd have thought a stable genius like Trump could cause such a massive clusterfuck.
1 - If you have a nuke you will want everyone to know about it. Everyone.
2 - What this logic amounts to is: If there is no evidence whatsoever of A being true, then A is true.
I don't see why this might come as any kind of surprise.
It should be a cause of eternal shame to the USA, and an affront to the rest of the world that this man is walking free.

One day the NYT's editors will read these stories again and be ashamed of themselves. Mamdani called the attack "heinous," "criminal," "reprehensible," "terrorism," and "the antithesis of who we are." The insinuation that he's conflicted about this is disgraceful. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/09/n...
