She did not lose her job because of incompetence but because fascism sucks and people resisted it and she embarrassed her boss while being grilled for it.
There is no bottom to the evil. There is no “reaching across the aisle.” To try to compromise with this depth of depravity, one risks becoming as atrocious as they are.
Impeachment and imprisonment of these leaders is the conclusion. Getting rid of DHS and ICE is first.

Also, the idea that people who are not white constitute some kind of get-out-of-racism-free card for any white person who has sex with them is, itself, a racist notion that is one of the most tired tropes out there.

Worse than that: the people most aggressively pushing A.I. see human pursuits as pointless, and can't seem to see the value in something that requires struggle, failure, and introspection to produce. I fear that will be foisted on many, wealthy and non-wealthy alike.

The key to an effective politician, and the essence of a courageous human being, is their ability to laugh at themselves.
We used to dream of a future where technology would *do* things for us: prepare meals, clean the house automatically, or complete rote, repetitive tasks for us in our work. We have a future where technology is being marketed to do the *thinking* for us, while we still do the repetitive tasks.
Seems particularly cruel to release a book on April Fool's Day. Was your publisher trolling you?
A hearty second from me! @jenmercieca.bsky.social's book needs to happen. I would read the hell out of it, and pester my colleagues to read it, too!
Sure, but for first-time authors (either first book or first article), it can be hard to know what to do with peer review comments. I was certainly hesitant to ignore anything the peer reviewers said. My editor did a great job of spelling out what I needed to address and what I could ignore.
Ideally, a good editor will help you navigate this, at both the book and article levels. They will identify what you need to change (usually if more than one reviewer points something out) what stuff you can acknowledge, and what stuff you can just ignore.
