OMG they released the deposition videos where they revealed that these two DOGE bros were just feeding grants into ChatGPT and saying "tell me if this is DEI in less than 120 characters."

"Make people dependent enough, and then make it shitty"
Still giggling at this hilarious video from the Norwegian Consumer Council "A Day in the Life of an Ensh*ttificator" which seems a perfect embodiment of Silicon Valley and tech generally these days

I would like to remind people that AI has already been used to kill people
OpenAI and Microsoft supplied Israel with AI models to track and kill people in Gaza which led to increased civilian deaths

Ok I spent alllllllll day doing this. (Thought it would take 3 hours... definitely more) But I promised myself I would finish the course this week.
I'm feeling a lot better with React now and I got some accessibility tips and practice in there too.

YES! It has been clarifying so many things and I love the repetition in multiple small projects. It also helps me think of how I can break functionality down to more manageable problems
I'm so happy that the #100devs community is so active and helpful. Every week I'm getting new resources to look at and try. A couple weeks ago someone shared this video to help with react and man, it's helped a lot. AND it integrates with claude... My first AI project!!

NEW: A hobbyist has created Nearby Glasses, an app that warns you if someone close by is wearing smart glasses. 404 Media spoke to the creator who said he was inspired by our coverage that uncovers how men are wearing Meta's Ray-Bans to covertly film massage parlor workers.
uhhh I don't think we should give consideration of resources to this dude's personal cash cow over survival of human beings...
lets see it
a man in Oklahoma was speaking out against a data center in his community. He went a few seconds over time and the city had him arrested for trespassing
βNew research from @cathywu.bsky.social et al. confirms something I've long suspected:
Navigation apps could save their users a lot of time β and tilt travel decisions toward transit and biking β if they showed users how long it takes to find parking.
I just posted a paper about Twitterβs algorithm moving people to the right and keeping them there.
Countries outside the U.S. are attempting to mitigate the poison from social media platforms like Twitter.
So the U.S. State Department is developing a portal for them to get around any such law.
The absolute arrogance.
TIL: .join() is faster than "+" operator for concatenation because of memory storage with "+" for strings (immutable!)

Re-thinking what my daily priorities should be.
I think I've done a good job building in some consistency of time allocated to working, but I need to stop putting off what I know really needs work.
Been using simple codewars problems for warm ups/ filling my daily github squares / practicing doing PREP and analyzing time complexity.
Then I move to leetcode on their explore cards to help with DSA. It is highlighting my gaps for sure.
I studied this solution for an hour.

This research paper is the first time that a tipping point of a switch from a carbon sink to a carbon emission source in tropical rainforests has been identified clearly β not just for one year but for the last 20 years. Cause is a change in the local climate. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
