Through many a conversation i think i am learning it now means something akin to role playing characters as well as still dipping into the fanfic side of things as well.

I am trying to remmeber what i called my characters in our forum rpgs in the aughts and i think it was just our characters... I will ask my friends from that time.

That is where my confusion comes from! Like i am from the oc in fanfic ages but i think i am realizing that is maybe outdated.

Hmmmm... i think i get that. So like oc is like a ttrpg character? Someone living in the moment rather then made to tell their own story.

What is the difference between characters in a story and an oc?
